Terms of Use
The agreement between you and Cuan for using Cuan.
Draft — pending legal review. Sections marked [REVIEW] need details only the operator can confirm before launch.
Using Cuan
By using Cuan you agree to these terms. Cuan helps people in Ireland understand their money — take-home pay, pensions, mortgages, budgeting, savings and Irish tax reliefs.
Cuan is an educational tool, not a financial adviser. Every figure is an estimate based on published Irish tax rules and the details you enter, and must not be relied on for a financial, tax, investment or legal decision without confirming it with Revenue or a qualified adviser. You are responsible for decisions you make.
You must be at least 18 to create an account or buy a subscription.
Cuan Plus subscriptions
Cuan is free to use. Cuan Plus is an optional paid subscription that unlocks tracking over time, statement import, unlimited AI guidance, household tracking and cloud sync (see the plan comparison in the app).
- Price. €4.99/month or €39.99/year, in the currency and at the local price shown by the store at purchase.
- Free trial. New subscribers get a 7-day free trial. If you don't cancel before it ends, it converts to a paid subscription at the price above.
- Billing & auto-renewal. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Managing & cancelling. Manage or cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings (also reachable from your account page). Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds. Purchases are handled by Apple and Google, so refunds are governed by their policies and requested through them, not through us.
- Price changes. We may change subscription prices; the stores will notify you and, where required, ask you to consent before a renewal at a new price.
Your access to Cuan Plus follows your account, so it works across your devices.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break the law, or use Cuan to harm others;
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, or try to bypass the app's limits or security (including the AI assistant's usage limits);
- Resell or redistribute Cuan or a subscription.
The Cuan name, design and content are owned by Cuan. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app; nothing here transfers ownership to you.
Disclaimers & liability
Cuan is provided “as is”. We don't warrant that estimates are accurate for your circumstances or that the app is uninterrupted or error-free. Tax rules change, and there may be a lag before they're reflected.
To the extent the law allows, Cuan is not liable for any loss arising from decisions made using Cuan, or from reliance on its estimates. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including your rights as a consumer under Irish and EU law.
The app relies on third-party services — Apple and Google (payments), Supabase (accounts), and the AI gateway behind the assistant. Their terms also apply to those parts. See the privacy policy for what is processed and where.
Changes, termination & governing law
We may update these terms; material changes will be surfaced in the app. Continuing to use Cuan after a change means you accept it.
You can stop using Cuan at any time and delete your account from your account page. We may suspend or end access that breaches these terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and disputes are subject to its courts, without affecting mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
[REVIEW] Confirm the legal entity name and registered address, the effective date, and any consumer-law wording with a solicitor before publishing.
